The brief

When celebrated chef Paul Heathcote expanded his empire by opening a new high-end events venue, he needed a website that was visually stunning as well as functional. As well as highlighting the best of the venue with luxurious design choices, the website also enabled customers to check availability, make reservations and pay for services.

Paul was so impressed with the result that when he launched his next venture later in the year – a ‘one stop shop’ to find and book chefs and other catering professionals – seoBusiness was his first choice to deliver the multi-faceted website he required, which included microsites for every supplier in the directory.

When Paul’s food business acquired an existing drinks business, the entrepreneur didn’t hesitate to enlist the seoBusiness team to create a showcase website for the new venture.

To showcase the best of Paul’s new venue-for-hire, 23Winckley in the city centre of Preston, we used high quality photography and video to enable customers to explore the venue from the comfort of their own home or office.

The venue is flexible: there are numerous layout options and it can be decorated to suit any event. The website serves to highlight how the venue begins as a blank canvas, while also showcasing its potential in many forms.

Mouth-watering food, first-class service and memorable events became a running theme throughout the websites we have built for Heathcote & Co.

Bespoke functionality

Beyond impressive visuals, Paul requires websites that perform, making tasks easier for both his team and his customers.

For the 23Winckley website, we delivered a system which allows customers to check the availability of the venue, make bookings and pay for services. By automating this process, customers can secure their booking whenever it’s convenient for them, any time of day or night – all while reducing the burden for Paul’s team.

Next up, Paul’s food and drink hub was designed to allow industry professionals from across the region to market their products and services. Each member has their own microsite, which they are able to update and maintain themselves.

This provides an appealing, one-stop-shop for anybody planning an event, and raises the profile of smaller businesses in a way that would usually be outside of their means if acting alone, while also giving them full control over how they are represented.
