A year which began in lockdown, driving up demand for online alternatives to the conventional ways of living our daily lives, has proven especially successful for web development and digital marketing agency seoBusiness.

The Blackburn-based company has won new contracts throughout Lancashire, across the UK and from around the world.

Year in review

As the New Year began, the UK continued to live under lockdown restrictions with no clear end in sight. Experts predicted that digital marketing would continue to grow in importance, and this was made evident by seoBusiness reporting its best-ever year of new contract wins.

The new projects include building new websites, providing support and driving digital marketing campaigns. The customers span a wide range of sectors, and many have found new opportunities online created by the pandemic and lockdown.

Investing through lockdown

The restrictions on business certainly made trade difficult for many companies, but the year started well for seoBusiness, building a new website Plas Dinas Country House – a hotel that’s a favourite among the royal family – and developing an ecommerce offering for Kevin Roper Interiors.

With much of everyday life turning online, the firm’s digital marketing services were in high demand as companies fought to maximise visibility online. seoBusiness began new search engine optimisation (SEO) projects on behalf of London-based Athene Legal, the specialist dog accessories firm Rudy & Lou of Nelson, and the UK-wide BluDesks.com, proving that seoBusiness’s geographical reach was growing.

Rapid results for customers

seoBusiness’s work was also able to help its customers to win new work of their own, when Burnley-based FloControl reported that SEO had played a major part in securing a significant five-figure contract with a new customer in Cardiff.

And few customers reported better results than online store Vape&Go. Launching a new SEO project in 2021, the first three months saw a rapid 90% increase in web traffic. This was followed by a further trebling of web traffic over the next three months.

This was followed by news that MerseyRod’s work with seoBusiness’s SEO team had enabled the company to increase its online visibility – all while reducing its online marketing spend. HIYOU, a popular supermarket in the North East, then approached seoBusiness about developing a plan that would help expand the reach of its online shop across the country.

Further contract wins from around the UK followed, including a commission for a new website from Derbyshire-based used Jaguar parts specialist Auto Reserve Jaguar, digital marketing wins with AB Electrical in Suffolk and Aspyr Investigations in the Midlands – and even a new contract from California, USA.

Celebrating Lancashire roots

Despite the ever-increasing reach of its work, seoBusiness has remained a proud part of the Lancashire business community. The company has been commissioned to build new websites for the iconic Stanley House Hotel & Spa as well as a brand new Preston venue, 23 Winckley Square, headed up by well-known chef Paul Heathcote.

This was also the year that the agency was able to celebrate two decades of serving fellow Lancastrians First Tunnels, while marking 100 editions published by Lancashire Business View magazine. seoBusiness director Kam Kothia was invited to speak at the celebratory event.

In another busy year for Kam, he began work as the chair of the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s Digital Sector Group. He said: “My ambition is to see Lancashire leapfrog to the forefront of the digital sector. My role within the LEP will be to bring together all of the county’s most important stakeholders to develop and implement a coherent, coordinated strategy with this as its core focus.”

While the year certainly began in turmoil, and was busy throughout, the seoBusiness team is thrilled to have welcomed so many new customers to its roster, while also continuing to provide excellent levels of service to its existing network – even inspiring them to go above and beyond with their ‘thank yous’.
