A brief history of me...
After being brought up in a tiny village on the Scottish borders, I moved to the big city of Edinburgh to study an Industrial Design degree. My first job involved designing children's toys and after a brief stint in the US I found my way back to my homeland working for Ferranti, GEC, Marconi, BAE Systems and Selex. I've been a technical advisor, an ergonomic advisor, a charity manager and a webmaster, and was involved in the development of the first ever web content management system. I'm passionate about my local community and the environment and reside on the boards of two local charities. In my spare time I try to develop my creative side through painting and reading and having been a motorcycle fanatic since the age of 12 I am now the proud owner of a Ducati Sports Bike.

I’m most proud of...
I'm heavily involved in a charity triathlon event called ’70 Wild Miles’. Together with a group of friends, I started this annual event, which has now been running for 20 years, raising over £500,000 for charity. Most rewarding was when we persuaded an epileptic friend with very low self esteem, to take part in the triathlon with us; he has since died, but the delighted and proud expression on his face as he crossed the finishing line will remain as the most uplifting experience of my life.

Something you won’t know about me...
Whilst working in Zambia on a summertime placement, I managed to completely disable their one and only telephone exchange, effectively disconnecting them from the rest of the world - I was not very popular!
