A Halal food specialist with ambitious plans for its website was named winner of the eBusiness UK WOW competition.
KQF, Blackburn, manufactures and packages Halal foods and employs almost 40 people at its George Street West site.
The eBusiness UK competition, which appeared in the last edition of Lancashire Business View, offered the chance to win £5,000 of online help and support to a company in order to develop its website.
What made KQF stand out from the numerous entries put forward for the competition was the integral role company bosses saw the website playing in the future of the firm.
Certified by the Halal Monitoring Committee, the company aims to broaden its range of products, target consumers in a more structured fashion and potentially create extra jobs if the revamped website achieves its potential.
Managing director of eBusiness, Kam Kothia, said: “We have been delighted with the response to our competition and it proves to us that Lancashire has a fantastic range of ambitious and committed businesses who understand the great benefits of investing online.
“With the high standard of entries a number of companies were worthy of the £5,000 prize, but as there could only be one winner, the judging panel were in agreement that it should be KQF.
“The company has a unique proposition which helped them stand out from the rest and the prize will help them achieve their potential to become a nationally recognised household brand.”
